They've said about me:
"An admirer of art and an advocate of culture in its every form, João proves to be an exquisite aesthete, but still a down to earth and practical person.
While studying communication and administration in college, he decided to pursue his aspirations of becoming a filmmaker. Despite the unfavourable economic and social conditions and at a great personal cost, he wrote and developed a documentary about young subcultures related to vintage and pin-up styles (Subculturas, do Vintage para o Futuro), which was exhibited in Lisboa, reaching the Brazilian audience as well.
João embarked then in a new journey and developed an entrepreneurial concept into a business at only 24 years of age: thus “Comer@Cultura” was born, a cultural centre and a restaurant with its own gastronomic culture of “author cuisine”. Always pursuing the finest forms of art, he moved to Brighton, where he could find an inspiring variety of openminded people, which encouraged him to give his passion a chance: he developed and filmed The I in between the Us , a very unique story and reflection of an individual living in the 21st century.
Struggling himself with General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and having experienced first-hand Alzheimer's disease (his grandmother suffered from it), João made the concepts of memory and time the core of his works: a truly artist of feelings and emotions, he never gives up and pushes himself beyond every possible human limit in order to reach his objectives."
