A lonely wolf in his late thirties, a prototype of LOSER, falls in love, which prompts him to rebel against his nihilism.
SYNOPSIS:
The main character, Roman, 38 y.o. prototype of LOSER is trying to come to terms with the emptiness and absurdity of his life. He has no partner or children, and both his parents dead. He works in supermarket and lives in dodgy rented accommodation. He has no ambitions - only dreams.
After meeting a 17-year-old girl, Emma, he falls in love and decides to rebel against his own nihilism. His life becomes different and yet there’s no end to adversity – Emma is a troubled teenager with messy family background and an appetite for alcohol. But Roman is determined to give their relationship a chance.
They move in together, to a small, badly equipped cottage on the edge of a village, and while Roman relishes the rural lifestyle, Emma’s bored and frustrated. There’s no happy ending to the story of Roman and Emma. She suffers alcohol poisoning and even though Roman may have saved her life, he gets blamed for her decline. Emma moves back to her mother.
The ending is open. In some ways, Roman’s life has already taken a turn for better, and he’s met a pretty village girl who’s now standing on his doorstep!
