SYNOPSIS:

Two couples, Emilia and Rich, and David and Karen decide to go to a Caribbean resort to get married. The couples meet en route and decide to get together for dinner and drinks that night. All four get quite drunk, and decide to wait until they are sober to get married, but decide to do a 'rehearsal' that night, and as a joke to do the rehearsal with the couples switched. Because of their drunken state, they don't realize the justice of the peace is actually marrying them. Emilia and David wake up in bed together, as do Karen and Rich and realize what happened. They want to get the marriages annulled but think the judge will give them hell if they tell the truth, so they lie about the circumstances. The judge catches the lies and tells them they can either go to jail or stay away from their original intended and spend time with the person they married. Both couples have the vacation from hell, Rich and Karen on a canoeing and camping trip, David and Emilia seeing a variety of local sights. As it goes along each grows closer to the person they married, and begins to wonder if they are better suited to them than the person they were going to marry. When the time comes to return to the judge to get the marriages annulled, each person struggles with conflicts between loyalty to their original intended and to the person they married.
