Hello, my name is Darren Montgomery and I'm an ambitious and dedicated screenwriter looking to sell my first feature.
Always interested in storytelling and comic book art I began my journey into the world of film when I moved from Colorado to Tucson and began a degree in Film and Animation at the local college. While going to school I wrote, produced and directed a number of shorts, garnering some attention with an animated short that went on to Sedona International Film Festival, a short screenplay that was a finalist at Shriekfest, and my short thriller titled 'Ordinary Day' which won first place for the TGAFP screenplay competition and then went on to be produced as a part of the program's curriculum where it was well received in a number of International Film Festivals.
Upon graduation I worked within the local community as a professional Grip, Camera Operator, Editor and A/V technician on multiple shorts, features, and commercials.
In 2009 I decided to redouble my efforts on the craft of storytelling and so enrolled in Vancouver Film School's Writer's Program.
Since that time I've been focused on writing a number of features as well as raising a family in the Vancouver area where I await and look forward to the next step of my career.
