Constantine Krystallis

I am an awarded character animator with +10 years experience in advertisement and games animation. My most recent role was senior animator in a computer games company in Norway. We collaborated for 3 years remotely, and I also had lead responsibilities on my hands in delegating and approving tasks. I also was charged with setting up the animation pipeline and did many of the cut scenes and trailers. Remote collaboration taught me a great deal about self-discipline, effective working and clear communication. Our latest project, called Shiftlings just got released on all platforms by Sierra Entertainment. One of the first titles released by Sierra after the reboot of the company.

Prior to that I worked for a Greek Game development company which produced the largest Greek MMORPG, Darkfall Online. Straight out of Uni I quickly rose from Animator, to Senior Animator and then studio Lead Artist. There I was responsible for the studio art department and worked closely with the Art Director who had moved out of the country and was counting on me to run the studio. In this company I was also selected to spearhead the setting-up of the mocap system with the lead programmer.

Throughout my career I have also worked on various animated commercial projects produced for clients like Nestle, GlaxoSmithKlein, Henkel, Mondelez and Diageo as a freelancer. For most projects the client relied on me to produce the whole film.

I have also worked on a volunteer basis as an animator for a short film production made in California, called Them Greeks! written and directed by Spyro Tsiounis. Through this process I have learned how highly demanding the animation process is in the Hollywood animation industry.

Regarding my training; I have obtained a Masters Degree in Animation from the University of Technology in Sydney accompanied by a Bachelor degree in Animation by Middlesex University London. Very recently I took a short course at AFTRS on Producing Animation as I am interested in the business side of the animated production as well.

At this point I will plug my short animated film Mariza :-) (one of the few I have made). It has won multiple international awards and is ranking in the millions of views on Youtube.

I have advanced knowledge of two major animation packages Autodesk Maya and 3Ds Max as well as the Adobe Creative Suite (design and compositing). Due to the difficult nature of the local scene and my curiosity I have a broad knowledge of the above packages that covers all aspects of the 3D production from design to modeling/texturing, rigging, animating, lighting, rendering and post-production. As mentioned earlier, I have created/directed animated commercials which were produced entirely by me.
