Directed by me, 'About Candy' tells the story of young Pieter (7) who finds his Christmas drastically changed by the sudden hospitalization of his mother. While his family all deals with the situation in their own ways, Pieter is left to his imagination. To deal with his feelings of guilt and powerlessness he invents himself a quest to make sure his mother gets all the attention from medical staff she needs! Based on my own experiences of my mother being hospitalized during Christmas, I hope this film will show a certain hope and recognition to all who know these situations.
