Thomas Freeman Jr. is a freelance writer and producer based in New Jersey. After graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1999 with a degree in communications, Freeman began running an independent record label, Sleepy Eye Entertainment, while promoting parties at a local club in South Jersey. In 2006, early into the "internet age" he successfully released his first compilation album "The State of New Jersey vs. Sleepy Eye Entertainment" via iTunes. This experience lead Freeman deeper into the entertainment field and also allowed him to explore his passion for writing, which became more then just a hobby in 2008 when he released his debut novel "The Organization". The book, which was more true crime then urban fiction, was actually based on true events that surrounded the 2001 take-down of one of the nations largest drug rings along with the conviction of then Camden Mayor Milton Milan. The Organization, which was followed by 3 more novels (Sons of Sin I & II and Her Little Secret) also lead to Thomas Freeman Jr's, debut as a documentary film maker in "Live 2 Tell: The Lucas Torres Story".
The documentary tells the story of Lucas Torres, who was the main character in "The Organization". Thomas Freeman followed this up with a screenplay based on Lucas Torres life which he is currently seeking funding for. In addition to The Organization, Freeman has also penned a screenplay based on his novel "Her Little Secret". That film is currently in pre-production. In addition to the novels and feature films, Freeman is also the author of dozens of articles for print and online magazines ranging from F.E.D.S Magazine to Georgia Politics Daily. He is also the creator of a docu-series "Hip-Hop's Great Migration" and a scripted TV Show "Dream's Reality" which are both being shopped to networks. Always looking to improve on his craft, Freeman has taken classes and seminars at New York Film Academy, Dov Simmens 2 Day film school, Writer's Digest and currently at Philly Cam studios in Philadelphia.
