Chasing Williams focuses on two men and their improbable run at a record that has stood for over 70 years. All of the pressure on the field pales in comparison to the family struggles that each man has to face on a daily basis.

Daniel Gibbons is about to start a career that he hopes will last a long time. Joining him for his time in the majors is his father, Jonathan. They've never seen eye to eye as Daniel has always tried to make his father happy, but never got the validation he wanted. So both men push each other as Daniel becomes a major league player that finds himself in the middle of a historic race.

Meanwhile in Boston, Allen Brown is in the twilight of his career. He knows his time is almost up, but can't face saying goodbye. This separation anxiety is what makes his wife, Chelsea, push for retirement. She knows his body can't give baseball anymore than it already has. That, and the fact that she wants her husband and father of her kids back home.
