Raised in idyllic Bend, OR, I quickly made my escape to UCLA, and with a BA in Communication Studies, set about pursuing a career in the entertainment biz. And yes, I've often wondered what was I thinking. But armed with advice from my first boss and mentor, TV Writer/Producer Samm Art Williams, that writing TV could “pay your bills, baby,” I learned the craft from the best in the business working as an assistant on Murphy Brown, Hogan Family, and a slew of pilots. Accepted to the Warner Brothers Writing Program, I then got my first writing gig on Cybill where one of the scripts I wrote garnered three awards: The Genesis Award, The Gracie Allen Comedy Award & The Dialogue Award. After three seasons and the show’s cancellation, I wrote scripts for The Jersey on Disney Channel before deciding to take time to hang with my young sons. And yes, I've often wondered what was I thinking. But as they’ve grown, I can’t help but want to dive back into writing again which could “pay the bills, baby” as well as kids’ college tuition. I'm looking to contribute to television or any media format with writing that speaks to life’s challenges in this new global media environment.
