Jona Kuijs

Born and raised in the Colombian northern caribbean coast.

Always with a passion for movies, animations and comics. started drawing them at a early age.

At 14, he borrowed his parents video camera and shot short movies with friends, the camera never made it back to his parents.
At 17 his family moved to the Netherlands, where he soon after join the Art Academy in Rotterdam for a traditional animation bachelor course, graduating with a prize winning 2D animation, after working as an freelance animator for a few years, he moved to London for a 2 year MA programme with the Raindance film festival focusing on screenwriting and cinematography, graduating with a ultra low budget short about a zoophilic right of passage, produced, shot and edited by himself, the polemic short as yet to be launched on the festival circuit. Jona also works as a director, editor, animator and illustrator for several influential advertising agencies in Amsterdam. While releasing his first short film "BOQUILLA", he is also writing and producing short films in Amsterdam.
