About Kris

Kris Ann Barbera is a Speech-Language Pathologist that has recently delved into a second career in the creative arts.

She studied Playwriting, singing, stage presentation and acting at HB Studio in NYC from 2011-2013, is a current member of the Time Square Playwrights Group, The Dramatist Guild and had a brief history with Community College Theatre and singing in her hometown on Long Island.

Kris Ann's first short play, "Red Flags" debuted at the Roy Arias Theatre in April, 2013. She wrote, co-directed, co-produced and performed in a two woman MS Fundraiser/Cabaret at Don't Tell Mama's in December of 2013. A reading of her Romantic Dramedy, "Just Right" was staged in 2013 at HB Studio via the Jack and Jill Showcase. "Just Right" was also performed in full, at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre in April, 2015.

Most recently, Kris Ann wore the hat of Director and Playwright for productions of her One Act, Direct Address Monologue, "Routine and Discipline". The quirky and fun but, contemplative piece was performed at the Davenport and Manhattan Repertory Theatres in September and October of 2015. Kris Ann Barbera's, "Routine and Discipline" received positive reviews and earned the title of, "Best Play" via the Midtown International Theatre Festival.

Kris Ann Barbera's planned future projects include: staging more of her dramatic shorts, finding a home for her full length Stage Play, "Seem-Stress" and completing her Action Based Dramatic Screenplay, "Peaks, Valleys, Mountains and Plains". This film takes us on a journey that begins in Spanish Harlem, NYC, travels through the mountainous range of Honduras and ends...Well, you'll have to see it to find out.
