About Rosalind

Hi Everyone.

I live in South West Hertfordshire, which is just outside London, England, I run my own literary Editing business, ONE VOICE EDITING SERVICES.

After I left school at 17, I went straight into the workplace as a secretary and worked for various companies over the years in permanent and temporary positions. I began editing in 1987 while working for The International Institute For Strategic Studies in London as a Personal Assistant. They are a military based organisation that publish their own books and I found myself working on every aspect of editing their main publication, 'The Military Balance', which lists the armaments of the world's armed forces.

The company also took interns from around the world and I helped them develop their projects by working with them, so that they could present their work in the best possible light. I was with the Institute for eight years and then left to have my first daughter. I had my second daughter two years later and became a full time mum. Once the girls were old enough I started thinking about what I wanted to do. A friend had asked me if I would edit her novel and it was during this process I decided to set up my own business and that is how 'One Voice Editing Services' was born.

Since establishing the business, I have edited everything from full length novels, novellas, children's YA and picture books, articles, business reports, screenplays and TV scripts and more.

In 2015 I joined Stage 32 and I helped the management team collate and edit blogs. I also edit screenplays for members of the site.

In 2017 I went into partnership with Sarah J Robinson and together we produced an online magazine, Fringe, which focused on articles and interviews of creatives in art, music and theatre. The magazine has since folded due to personal reasons, but the editions that were published were very successful.

I love editing, but In my other life, I am a poet and song lyricist.

In 2014 I began work on producing a beautiful poetry anthology called Poetic Wonders. I finally published it in 2019. It includes my own poetry, plus the poetry of five other very talented writers that I gathered together for the project.

I have also had the privilege of editing, producing and voice recording an audio story, The Bear On Lonely Lake by Daniel Buckner.

In November 2023, I released an album, ANOTHER DIRECTION, which I wrote with my co-writer A.J. Clarke. He composed the music for all the songs and recorded the vocals. The album contains beautifully crafted, original songs that represent a kaleidoscope of styles. It is available as a digital download and physical CD at ajclarkemusic.net/store

I have been writing for over 40 years and have enjoyed lovely achievements, such as seeing songs I have co-written performed live on stage. I have won awards and I love working with very talented composers and performers.

I also love musical theatre, reading, ten pin bowling, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.

Unique traits: I always put the very best of myself into my work.
