SYNOPSIS:

A Mother’s Will is about the six Willet sisters who have been estranged for a few years, have to come back to their home state of Georgia to bury their mother who has recently passed away. Each sister living in a different state find out one by one about their mother’s passing. Gloria, Vicki, Jennifer, Heaven, Kina and Reggie have to put their careers and lives on hold and leave their families and fly back to Atlanta. One by one the Willet sisters arrive at their childhood home, a place they haven’t been to in a long time. They even stay in their old rooms, which are still the same as when they were younger.

The Willet sisters receive news from their mother’s lawyer that unless they find their mother’s will, their parent’s property will be turned over to the state and sold. Their father passed away years ago and they only had their mother left. So the sisters begin their quest to find the will. They look through every inch of their house.

While looking for the will and finding an old photo, the youngest sister Reggie finds out a deep family secret that has been kept from her all her life. She finds out she doesn’t have the same mother as the rest of her sisters. Their father had an affair and worked everything out with their mother, who raised Reggie as one of her own. To add more salt to the wound, her older sisters knew about it all along. Reggie feels like this is what tore her and her sisters apart. She feels they singled her out because of it. The sisters also find out they will have another niece or nephew soon.

The sisters are hit with nostalgia; looking through old toys they used to play with and the hand me down clothes they’ve all had to wear. They remember the fights they used to have over which doll belonged to which sister and who was the nicest and the meanest. They even run into some old boyfriends and friends from their neighborhood. Because they haven’t found the will yet, they decide to have their husbands, boyfriends and kids come to Georgia for a traditional Willet Christmas. So, through pain, laughs and memories, the sisters not only end up finding the will, but they also find each other again.
