Tim Russ played a role in Brian McLane's full feature film shot with one iPhone which had a special screening during the International Mobile Film Festival in San Diego. Tim Russ is best known for his role as Tuvok in the television series Star Trek Voyager.

The two top prize awards for 2018's International Mobile Film Festival in San Diego were Brian Hennings from Perth, Australia with First Place and Narelle Nash from Sidney, Australia with Third Place.

Sponsor Mickey Harrison of LuLu Films accepted a certificate of appreciation from festival founder and director Susy Botello. Ms. Harrison also produced a short mobile film which was screened during the film festival.

Star Wars Steampunk Universe group members escorted all the filmmakers on the red carpet before the Awards Ceremony which marks the end of the International Mobile Film Festival each year. #MFF2018SanDiego was the 7th edition of the festival and took place April 28 & 29, 2018 at the Marina Village Conference Center.

The red carpet during #MFF2017SanDiego featured Star Wars Steampunk Universe. Members of the group escorted the filmmakers who came from Australia, Germany, Canada and Chile along with a few locals to the Awards Ceremony as they first walked the red carpet and posed for photos with members of the group.
