About Sophia

Sophia Mansfield is an English- Greek Filmmaker. She was born in the Uk, but spent most of her childhood in Greece, where she spend her hours observing both wild life and the culture. She got her first professional camera aged 10 and was passionate in photography throughout her teenage years, opening doors in the media sector for a higher education. Won awards for "Best picture in the Campus" in May 2014 for short film “Mrs. Marshmallow”, and proceeded onto writing, producing and directing philosophical themed short “Spectrum”.
Sophia is also very passionate for raising awareness, which drives her to document factual topics, like her debut short documentary “Pressure Points”, about Acupuncture; or “Teaching Education” a project currently in pre- production, aiming to raise awareness of the advantages of homeschooling in the UK. Trained and well educated in media and broadcasting at the University of Brighton, she is a hard- working competent crew member, driven by the ever aspiring contribution the image of film can have on they eye. Aged 20, what she lacks in experience, she covers for with freshness and innovation, because the "children are the future". Driven by strong ideas and a passionate nature, she sticks by her ideals no matter what life throws at her, and will do her best to make a real and lasting impact on the world. Deep down freedom is her desire and drive.

Technically and aesthetically capable of delivering good work, very good at problem solving and improvisation when needed, light on her feet and very aspiring when given the option.

Unique traits: self-sufficient, inspiring, open-minded... alternative.
