Iona Firouzabadi is a graduate of the National Film & Television School MA programme in Cinematography.
At NFTS Iona studied under Brian Tufano BSC (Trainspotting, Billy Elliot), Sean Bobbitt BSC (Hunger, The Place Beyond the Pines, 12 Years a Slave) and Nina Kellgren BSC (Solomon & Gaenor). She is experienced at shooting a range of formats across digital acquisition, 16mm and 35mm film. Whilst at NFTS she shot drama, animation and commercials projects. In 2015 Iona was selected by Alan Parker (Mississippi Burning, The Commitments) to shoot and direct a commercial for the national Kodak NAHEMI competition. Prior to film school she worked in documentary television and promos. Iona also has a BA in English Literature from Cambridge University and has studied storyboarding at Central St Martins. She is based in London.
