About Patrick
I am 33 and an aspiring Screenwriter. I am currently working on a screenplay. I have also written many shorts.
I have spent many hours thinking about characters and story and their impact on the world I am creating. Sitting in front of my keyboard just staring at a blank screen, just hoping and preying something comes. Then the absolute pleasure of something coming; an idea. I write it down thinking it is the best thing ever. Only to read it later on in the day, and realise it is not that good. Then I am sitting once again staring at a blank screen. But over time I found that the pieces I had written began to stay on the page. The whole thing taking shape and more and more bits being added, deleted and changed. Seeing my script being constructed like a chef making a soup of many ingredients. Making sure I get the right amount, the right measurements. Sitting back and tasting what I see and liking my creation. That's when I know that all the pain and heartache was worth it.
I found patience is one of the main ingredients. Without patience your creation will never, ever get created.
Film has always been apart of my life. I love the way the storyteller tells the story. The way the plot moves and the way the characters change and develop. I love creating new worlds in my head and then using them when I need them. The idea that something I wrote can change a persons life or direction is very appealing to me.
I want to write and make films. Not for the fame or for money. But to tell stories and explore better ways to tell those stories. If I can make a living, just to pay bills, I will be very contented.
