I've had a varied career, from fisherman to director and a lot inbetween. This has helped me with writing and working with people from all walks of life. I really enjoy the hands on approach, so for example if I'm directing a film I've written , I've probably storyboarded it first and designed the props. I also like to work with local bands where the film is set.
Unique traits: I was a sculptor and painter before becoming a filmmaker so I enjoy making most of my own props and matts for the features I make now. My first comission was an animation for children's gaelic TV.
