SYNOPSIS:

Jake Walters is a psychiatrist at a veterans psychiatric hospital in charge of a motley crew of veterans of all ages who suffer from a variety of psychiatric illnesses and look back at lives filled with failure and shame. All that changes when the United States military asks them to volunteer for a covert operation, their goal being to travel to Mexico, infiltrate a terrorist training camp, and eliminate as many terrorists as possible. Having nothing to lose and wishing to have a moment of glory that their families can be proud of, they choose to go on this suicide mission. Dr. Walters decides to go along as well, not as a combatant but as somebody behind the lines who will help to monitor their medications and emotional stability. Insofar as Dr. Walters has some suicidal issues of his own, it’s a good fit. What they don't know is that the military has set them up. They will actually be used as expendable decoys to provide a distraction so that an elite team of CIA operatives can enter the terrorist camp and steal computer data that will aid the United States in the war on terror. When the vets manage to survive and the elite team is taken out by the terrorists, it falls upon the vets to get the job done. Unfortunately they no longer have any ammunition and have to complete the mission using makeshift weapons. Additionally, there is a mole in their group who attempts to sabotage their efforts. Against all odds our loveable misfits complete the mission, become America's heroes, and heal themselves of their emotional demons.
