GENRE: Comedy, Thriller
LOGLINE: A newcomer to a two-faced amateur dramatics community marks the arrival of their ultimate critic: A shadowy serial killer. “Glee” meets “Scream”, in the tone of “Shaun of the Dead”.

SYNOPSIS:

  1. English student Stu Emslie, the lone survivor of an American Summer Fat-Camp massacre returns to the U.K. to re-start his life. Ostracised by society and carrying the burden of guilt, he is enlisted by a friend to make a horror movie, given his expertise on the subject. Scouring an amateur dramatics community for talent, Stu falls in love with angelic/bad girl actress Tilly Fothergill. Desperate to impress Tilly, Stu boastfully claims to be a playwright. Immersing himself in theatre life, Stu discovers a web of complicated relationships, rivalry and jealousy; using his new companions as inspiration for his writing. Attending a one-act drama festival, the individual plays are judged by a ruthless adjudicator, whose cutting judgment crushes many hopes and dreams. Various dejected Am-Drammers rally together to confront the adjudicator, discovering an axe in her back. Killer: Unknown. Suspects: Plenty. The community rallies, creating a new production: A community play. As rival factions join forces, actors and directors battle for supremacy, with one man is at the centre of it all: mild mannered ‘playwright’ Stu Emslie.
