June 14th 1969, I was eight years old. It was my first time in church. I never been in church before, I didn’t know what it was, I didn’t care about it, I didn’t understand what was going on at first, but suddenly when the organ music stopped... it had gotten quiet. Wow! I saw something so beautiful... now I realize why people come to church"

After "Directed by Ariel Armstrong" colors come into focus - it is a stain glass window. Camera pans down to see a 5 year old, teary wide eyed black girl.

Catherine’s apt is a studio apartment in Hollywood. It is very bohemian in style, yet with a sophistication of a past. PAUL, a man in his late 50’s, shoulder length hair with a goatee and slight beard, is seen holding Catherine up and twirling her. They are laughing and so in love. He stops and Catherine is slightly dizzy. She puts the vase down on the table. Paul grabs her and pulls her toward him.

PAUL

why do you love me so?

CUT TO

Catherine is looking at the crowd. Everyone seems happy. There are some people who look like they are returning but for the most part tourists. She sees snacks are being sold. Catherine reaches into her backpack and gets her wallet. Looks at it...not much money and puts it away. As she puts her wallet back, she retrieves her phone. She looks at her phone in anticipation of a call from...him. She then scrolls the pictures on her phone and comes to the picture of her and Paul smiling together. She turns her head toward the window to hide her tears.
