Daniel Cortes is a designer and filmmaker. In 2002 he created Mahakito Design as a vehicle for his project manager endeavors. His work includes the direction of high end new construction and renovations of commercial, retail, and residential properties in several of the finest neighborhoods in Mexico City. He has over ten years experience as Art Director, Set Designer and Production Designer on commercials, with clients ranging from Ford/ Lincoln to Gillette. His most recent projects include editing the feature film “El Güey,” produced by Crazy Rebel Productions, and adding illustration and lettering for the graphic novel “Zero Libertad”. He was born in Texas and raised in Mexico City. He received his degree in Industrial Design from the Universidad Iberoamericana. He and Alana Macias are now founding Directors of Cortes Collective, an umbrella organization that creates and curate art across media.
