Michael J Lasky- Born in NYC, raised in LA, based in Santa Monica then Honolulu (10 yrs), followed by Laguna Beach (10 yrs), escaped to Geneva, CH (Switzerland 3 yrs). Now happily splitting time between Portland, OR and Laguna Beach. Producer, Executive Producer, finance consultant.

MJ has bridged the domain of film and real estate development as a producer, consultant and visionary. As a CEO in media and the architectural worlds, he found comfort in the parallels of these fields by macro-managing teams of designers, craft-workers and project managers while maintaining the vision, mission and values of each endeavor.

Lasky has partnered on film development with Tom Laughlin, Malcolm Leo, Frank Capra Jr., Lee Lacy, Julie Corman, Danny Simon, Daniel Mayer Selznick, Robert Watts and other iconic filmmakers. He was a producer with Hall Bartlett, (1983-93) developing projects with top talents such as Sophia Loren, Marlon Brando, Anthony Quinn and with rising stars of the time including Matt Damon, Helen Hunt, and Priscilla Presley. MJ's recent production endeavor (Living Luminaries) showcased notables such as Eckhart Tolle, Michael Beckwith, Marianne Williamson and Don Miguel Ruiz. Previously Lasky ran the Jonathan Livingston Seagull Company, CinemaZone Studios and founded Mountaintop Productions, Gotham Metro Studios and E4 Studios.

Known for- original writer/producer of Catch Me If You Can development (early draft script was not produced) & partnered with Hall Bartlett. Executive Producer- Dance Factory starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Adam Baldwin. Producer, Living Luminaries and The Serious Business of Happiness.

We were given life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But what is happiness and how is it achieved? With life in these times, it is hard not to focus on the negative. However, people by nature want to stay positive. People are hungry for improvement in all aspects of their lives, with the pursuit of happiness leading the way. 100 million "Cultural Creatives" are on a mission to improve their lives and the lives of others. They are ultimately on a quest for true happiness. Our film "The Serious Business of Happiness" embodies this very idea.
