Born in 1989 in Cebu, Phillippines. EJ Negre is a visual artist and illustrator, currently residing in Calgary, Alberta.
His work is heavily influenced by Hip-Hop culture, Japanese comics and vibrant music videos. Being interested in art at a young age, he took summer classes at the Prince’s Drawing School in London, UK and graduated from the Classical Animation course in Vancouver Film School.
The knowledge he gained from these institutions and the people he encountered on his journey gave him the confidence and belief that you can live off of your passion.
At the moment, EJ works on several different projects, that include murals, logos, mixtape artwork, and photography.
EJ’s work has been featured on CBC NEWS Calgary and the Calgary Herald.
He hopes the work he creates will make a better future and inspire others and one day will be moving to New York and Los Angeles where art thrives and the opportunities for artists are limitless!
