"IT'S BUTTONS FOR BILIATCHO"

FADE IN:

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC LIKE A FIERCE ARAB BELLY DANCE PLAYS

EXT. CAIRO LANDSCAPE - DAY

SUPER: “CAIRO EGYPT”

A tan wave of a sandstorm develops in the distance under a sunlit sky and rolls forward across the landscape.

NARRATOR

This is what happens when a tired fairy, Biliatcho, wishes a dream, deep within his heart.

EXT. TALAAT HARB STREET - DAY

BILIATCHO, 77, a four inch, Arabic Egyptian Fairy, twirls in a white linen robe and white spider-like overcoat of equidistant tied, grey spindle feather dusters that cascade to his black sandals.

The sand lifts and flies away from the flower Paver tiles in the sidewalk as each feather duster spins. Biliatcho, a grey whirl, ZOOMS between and over each tile. Covered feet with shoes and sandals, CRUNCH AND SPLOTCH, pass by.

Biliatcho picks up coin that shines a pure gold center surrounded by a thick band of silver. Biliatcho flies, and CLINKS it down in front of an EGYPTIAN CHILD, 5, who tugs on the clothing of passersby. The Egyptian child looks down.

EGYPTIAN CHILD

(in Arabic, subtitled)

Thank you, Biliatcho.

The Egyptian child pats the wiry, grey hair of Biliatcho. Each feather duster spins as Biliatcho hovers in mid-air.

Biliatcho’s deep wrinkles turn into a wide smile that reveal his teeth from behind a curly grey and white mustache and beard that forms to a point down to his belly button.

Biliatcho flies and twirls back down Talaat Harb Street.

An EGYPTIAN SHOE STORE OWNER, 55, wipes in a circular motion the sand dust off the inside of his front window. Glitter shoes, perch in tiered rows behind him, glisten and sparkle.

Biliatcho flies inside, twirls through, and atop the shoes on every tier. Sun rays pierce through the facets of the rhinestones. A multi-color rainbow reflects upon the front window as the owner wipes away the sand.

EGYPTIAN SHOE STORE OWNER

(in Arabic, subtitled)

Good Morning, Biliatcho. Don’t forget your coin.

The Egyptian Shoe Store Owner reaches into his pocket, and pulls out an Egyptian Pound, and holds it up between his thumb and second finger. The coin TINGS when it sparkles in the sunlight.

Biliatcho flies to the coin and hovers as he picks up the coin. Biliatcho smiles, flies out the door and spots A BLIND MAN, 80, who walks in small steps with his right hand out and, in his left hand, holds a gnarled wooden stick.

Biliatcho places the coin into the Blind Man’s hand.

BLIND MAN

(in Arabic, subtitled)

Allah Bless You, and Thank you.

MALE CITIZENS, all ages, in black or white linen robes, sit around wooden tables that line both sides of the street. The Male Citizens play Backgammon, drink tea, and smoke shisha from ornate containers. Biliatcho circles them in flight.

The white smoke twirls out in an “S” as the men hold the inhaler. Black pieces of coal set atop of the shisha containers glow in orange to red as the men inhale.

Individual raised black circles of skin rest in he middle of their foreheads. The Male Citizens speak INDISCRIMINATE ARABIC VERBIAGE as they play.

Egyptian Families walk the sidewalk full of stores and Parisian style “France on Sand” buildings and high rises lined with ornate balconies as Biliatcho whizzes through the grates.

Biliatcho flies by rolled up rugs of many different sizes. They rest at an angle upon the sides of the connected street buildings.

Multi-colored clothing hangs out to dry and sways above as they speckle the buildings on top the balconies. The citizens bustle about. Some stop at store windows and look in. Others stop behind then for brief second and walk on.

The darker now Sienna storm wave RUMBLES and billows in closer to Talaat Harb Street.

MUSIC LIKE CHANTS OF EGYPTIAN ISLAMIC CANTORS CALL TO PRAYER

INT. SHOE STORE - DAY

EGYPTIAN SHOE STORE OWNER

(in Arabic, subtitled)

Chants for Allah, time for prayer.

The Egyptian Shoe Store Owner walks to the back of his store, lifts the 9 X 12 foot rolled up rug away from the wall, and carries it out to the sidewalk.

EXT. TALAAT HARB STREET - DAY

The Egyptian Store Owner, and every citizen outside, roll out the Oriental carpets of various colors and designs. In unison, they kneel down with their foreheads to each carpet floor.

They lift themselves up in unison and bow down with their foreheads to the floor carpet several times.

MUSIC LIKE ARABIC BELLY DANCE

As the skies darken into a tan haze, and the sand billows like a wave over the land, citizens cover their faces with multi-colored scarves so that only their eyes can be seen.

Quickly, they rush indoors to cover and shut their large inner windows with outer shutters.

Biliatcho gets caught outside as he fights against the winds of sand as each feather duster on his overcoat twirls faster and faster. The wind swirls him up, down, and around Talaat Harb Street.

Biliatcho grabs onto a lamp post and tightens his grip. Biliatcho’s feet and body pull straight out, away from the lamp post, and FLAP. The WIND WHISTLES even more fierce.

EXT. CITY-SCAPE - MIDDLE OF SANDSTORM - DAY

The minarets and city-scape now stand against red skies that darken the speckled air full of sand.

Full-blown swirls capture Biliatcho in the bilious sandstorm as his hands release from the lamp post.

Lights flicker on and off on the streets and within the many Parisian style buildings.

Biliatcho twirls across, around, and up and down the city-scape, the size of a tiny lit up dot that leaves a glowing trail amidst the dark backdrop.

Biliatcho’s face wrinkles wiggle and move in rhythm to the music against the force of the wind upon his cheeks within the swirls.

Biliatcho’s beard covers his face and acts like an iron triangle that doesn't want to move back into place.

Suddenly, his beard whips into single strands that sparkle. Sand gets caught within his crinkled hair, only to strip away and cause his curls to lengthen straight and then swoop back into bouncy curls as the wind so wishes to sway.

Music Like RAVEL’S, "LE TOMBEAU DE COUPERIN"

Depict the rising swirling sandstorm into a deep glowing red, that sparkles and glitters the air, as the sand swirls around.

The beams of a lit up Biliatcho contrast against the smaller glitter and sheen in the red air as the grey feathers spin on their brown spindles.

Biliatcho moves further along with the crescendo into a swirl and grips his feather duster cap on his head, to no avail, as he grabs it and rolls, grabs it again, twirls, and then rolls within the now playful sandstorm wind current.

EXT. ABOVE GIZA EGYPT - DAY

Finally Biliatcho’s cap releases and spins out of sight and disappears when Biliatcho loses it in a wave of sand movement as he spirals up and out of a signed ground of EGYPT and aerial view of the Pyramids...

EXT. ABOVE ALGERIA - MOROCCO - MEDITERRANEAN SEA - DAY

...Across a signed ground of ALGERIA, above a signed ground of MOROCCO against the crystalline crest line of Northern Africa, and then across the white wave crests against the blue of the Mediterranean Sea.

EXT. AIR OVER SICILY - DAY

The instrumental sings Biliatcho across the signed Island of SICILY, and the signed countries with an aerial view of a signed ground Map of ITALY, FRANCE, ENGLAND, up, and over the snow peaked, mountains of NUK/GREENLAND.

EXT. ABOVE NUK, GREENLAND - DAY

Biliatcho stands on the sand wind current and meets SANTA CLAUS as he WHIZZES next to the wind current on his sled. Eight reindeer, connected by a velvet rope, lead the way. Biliatcho eyes widen as CYMBALS CLASH AND CRESCENDO.

SANTA CLAUS

(in Arabic, subtitled)

Biliatcho, I shall come to you this Christmas Eve and give you bags of gold coins to drop down the chimneys of the poor.

BILIATCHO

(in Arabic, subtitled)

Thank you, Saint Nicholas.

Santa Claus WHIP CRACKS the velvet rope as the crew swoops lower. Their gradual size forms to a red dot against the white Island of Nuk, Greenland.

EXT. OVER THE ATLANTIC OCEAN - DAY

The blues and greens of the Atlantic Ocean, sometimes calm, and sometimes wavy, beneath the wind current soothe Biliatcho into a dream like state. The sand forms a pillow. Biliatcho rests his entire body atop the pillow and closes his eyes.

DAYDREAM - EXT. OVER THE ATLANTIC OCEAN - DAY

The sand forms camels, Arabian horses, goats, and sheep, that mingle in the crowded streets of Cairo. Cars line four rows across the street and move inch by inch as they BEEP TO WARN pedestrians. The sand vanishes and forms into the Golden Hands of God that carry Biliatcho.

The sand vanishes and forms into the body of the street girl. The street girl vanishes and forms into the Golden Hands of God that carry Biliatcho. The sand vanishes and forms into:

Suq Tabaya, a street, filled with consecutive fruit stands in a row with many varied fruits piled as they form into colored Castles and decorative buildings. The street girl buys an apple and bread at the bakery.

The sand vanishes and forms into the Golden Hands of God that carry Biliatcho into a Mosque set upon acres of land with delicate minarets, filled with a huge Oriental rug and pillows everywhere.

The Golden Hands of God rest Biliatcho upon the pillows. Biliatcho falls asleep. The Golden Hands of God pat Biliatcho upon his head as he sleeps.

NARRATOR

Biliatcho, you will miss your journey if you don’t wake up.

A gold light rod nudges Biliatcho awake. Biliatcho opens one eye, then the other. Biliatcho sits up and stretches his arms as he yawns.

EXT. OVER THE ATLANTIC OCEAN - DAY

The sand current forms into an airplane as Biliatcho the plane pilot looks to the center, full face and smiles. A two passenger plane approaches Biliatcho’s face. Biliatcho’s face turns profile and meets the plane eye to eye.

The pilots BEEP THREE TIMES and motion Biliatcho to move out of the way.

BILIATCHO

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Biliatcho pinches the top of the plane as he grabs it. Biliatcho picks it up and SWOOPS the plane over his head. The plane flies on.

The sand transforms into a tricycle, then into a race car, and finally into a boat as Biliatcho rides each one with joy.

Biliatcho then stands on the sand current, flips, hops, and runs on top of the sand current.

Biliatcho twirls and spins through to the bottom of the sand current and holds onto the sand current when his eyes pop wide open to the ocean below. Biliatcho scurries back through to the top and sits down with a huff and a puff.

EXT. ABOVE AMERICA - DAY

The scene climaxes to the music cymbals chiming and a sign that says: WELCOME TO THE USA. Patterned rectangles and squares decorate and dot the landscape below.

Biliatcho glides and lilts on a sand carpet, up and down, back and forth, to the road and cars against cityscapes and farmlands, above and across the array of multi-colored trees.

Biliatcho lowers and lands into:

EXT. JACOB AND WILL BILL’S HOME

SUPER: “LaGrangeville, New York”

The apartment front door suddenly swings outward and SCRAPES THE METAL door jam.

WILL BILL, 4, runs out into the pebbled driveway. Will Bill’s hair is bowl cut and blonde. A beach towel is the cape that ties around his neck, and he holds a plastic sword in hand.

MUSIC LIKE “SCHEHERAZADE” BY RIMSKY-KORSAKOV PLAYS

WILL BILL

Find Rex! Save the Rex! The Aliens are here!

NARRATOR

Billy is impulsive and follows every imagination of his whimsical mind and heart.

Will Bill runs down the pebbled driveway and out of sight as his FEET CRUNCH THE STONES.

NARRATOR (CONT’D)

Oftentimes, his parents must go find him as he has wandered into "Far Away Lands".

INT. JACOB AND WILL BILL’S HOME - LIVING ROOM - DAY

Biliatcho flies above and across the rectangular room, over the colored blocks that speckle a huge beige block city. Tops of plastic trees and plastic dinosaurs of every kind pose upon the blocks.

Biliatcho rests on his hands and knees as the sand carpet ZOOMS over the block city.

THE RED PLASTIC BUTTONS INSIDE THE DOLL CARRIAGE SEAT

NARRATOR

Biliatcho, hold on there for a minute!

FREEZE BILIATCHO - THE SAND CARPET - STOP THE MUSIC

JACOB, 2, his light blue eyes shine like diamonds as his soft, blonde hair glistens with sparks of light that surround his head.

NARRATOR (CONT’D)

People say, “Jacob, you look like an angel.” Do you know why?

Biliatcho shakes his head from side to side and crosses his arms in front of himself.

BILIATCHO

(in Arabic accent)

Hmmphfff. No, I know not, why.

The sparkles glisten in the sun drenched room. Jacob, in his footed pajamas that zip, strolls around the room with a doll baby carriage.

NARRATOR

If you look close enough about his face and hair, then you can see and hear something else, very special.

CLOSE UP of Five Fairies, translucent, two inches tall, in pale green robes that shimmer of gold, their hair, wisps of golden light, position equidistant around Jacob’s head, and sing a heavenly harmonic progression.

FIVE FAIRIES

Christus lux venit in mundum.

BUBU shines brighter than MALAK, HEPHZIBAH, ASAL, and FEMI Fairy. Femi holds a green rod. Each Fairy reveals a sign with it’s name from behind their backs, then put the sign behind their back and resume their song.

BILIATCHO

Harrummphfff.

Biliatcho turns his body away from the fairies.

Jacob’s hair sparkles, as BUBU’s light shines bright. Jacob piles into the carriage a piece of black string that he finds on the floor, a black metal bobby pin that he finds under a shoe.

Jacob picks up a wooden alphabet block next to the bottom of the chair.

NARRATOR

I think sometimes he pretends to be a builder, with a bulldozer that carries stones!

JACOB

Achoo... Achoo!

BILIATCHO

God Bless you.

Jacob looks to Biliatcho and ignores him as he places the block into the seat of the doll carriage.

Inside the seat of the baby doll carriage a white soda cap, a tiny black plastic wheel from a car, a spoon, a lost puzzle piece, a crayon, and finally a tiny plastic brush, surround a pile of red plastic buttons.

Bubu sings louder than the rest of the fairies. Their eyebrows furrow as they look around to each other. Femi, from the front, flies to Bubu and gently bops him over the head with the green rod.

Femi resumes his position in front and lifts up the green rod. The fairies resume their harmonic heavenly song.

MUSIC LIKE “SHEHEREZADE” RESUMES AND UNFREEZE BILIATCHO

As Biliatcho ZIPS past the fairies and Jacob, the wave wind upsets the position of the five fairies and it throws them off center. The five fairies fall to the floor.

INDISCRIMINATE RETORTS resound from the fairies as they roll on the floor.

Biliatcho’s carpet of sand comes to a SCREECHING HALT directly above Jacob’s doll carriage. The sand forms into five arrows. Each arrow points and chooses its own fairy to cover with sand. The sand sprinkles and falls on each fairy.

The five fairies stand up and shake the sand off their cloaks and hair. MORE INDISCRIMINATE RETORTS RESOUND as they then fly and reposition themselves around Jacob’s head.

Biliatcho plummets in an arc and PLUNKS down into the pile of plastic red buttons in the center of the seat in the doll carriage.

BILIATCHO (CONT’D)

Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

The red buttons fly upward, scatter, and PLINK CRASH back onto Biliatcho as water droplets. The water droplets break into glitter sand that forms a sea of red sandy water over Biliatcho.

Biliatcho dives up and out of the red button glitter sand into the air and twirls to sweep away the red glitter sand, but Biliatcho lands upon the now again red plastic buttons.

Biliatcho runs on top of them as his steps kick each one behind himself. The RED BUTTONS come to life as their eyes open.

The Red Buttons buttons swarm over Biliatcho and grow larger and smaller to act as stoppers on his twirling dusters and rips them apart.

The piece of string, a black metal bobby pin, a spoon, and a tiny plastic brush come to life.

The Red Buttons sew themselves onto Biliatcho's white linen garment as they close the arm/hand holes and foot hem with bristles from the brush and the string.

Biliatcho blows a sliver swirl wind at the buttons. Some red buttons push against Biliatcho’s wind and fall back a bit.

The Bobby Pin SNAPS the thread that binds Biliatcho's hands and feet. Biliatcho gleams a twinkle smile and winks at the Bobby Pin.

The Red Buttons, as they release, form into a barrette for his hair and his beard.

The Red Buttons cover his eyes, his ears, and his mouth as The Spoon scoops them away.

The Red Buttons attach themselves to Biliatcho's feet and hands like glue as they form piles to make him stand upon, and as hand extensions to force him to move in ways against his twirl.

The hand of Jacob then collects the buttons and stacks them on the chair to the dining room table. Biliatcho twirls and stops. Biliatcho fights the air with his arms and fists.

Jacob then climbs the chair and grabs the cup on top of the table. The buttons then shoot themselves towards Biliatcho.

Biliatcho spins sending them off to the floor in all directions, but they ping pong back to Biliatcho and cover his whole body, front and back.

Jacob frees Biliatcho when he climbs off the chair, cup in hand, and collects all the red buttons. Jacob CLINKS them into the cup.

Will Bill bursts through the door as he waves his hands that hold a heart shaped, striped box.

WILL BILL

Look what I found for you Jacob!

Jacob looks up, holds out his left hand, and smiles, as Will Bill hands him the box.

JACOB

Thank you.

WILL BILL

Whatcha got there?

Jacob shows Will Bill the buttons in the cup.

Biliatcho spots sand in the Fairy's hair and on their robes.

Biliatcho grips his hands into a fist and braces down as his body puffs with red smoke.

Biliatcho twirls faster and faster into a grey WHIRRRRRL as he flies out of the doll carriage seat and up to the center top of Jacob’s head.

Biliatcho stops in a flash of gold light, and breathless, PUFFS OUT AIR atop of Jacob’s head.

END MUSIC LIKE SCHEHEREZADE.

The last beats crescendo into the final twirls and kicks of each five fairies into a dust storm of gold.

Biliatcho knocks off golden lights (the hair of the each five fairies that twirls fast) one by one and they fall to the floor again.

“Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies” STOPS

Biliatcho stands with his feet set apart atop the center of Jacob’s head, takes in a deep breath as he holds his own head high and spreads his arms out.

BILIATCHO (CONT’D)

(sings in operatic voice)

Haaaaaaaaalleeeeeluuuuuiiiiiaaaaaa!

Will Bill picks up a breathless Biliatcho by the back of his overcoat from behind Jacob and places Biliatcho into Jacob’s two hands that form a cup.

WILL BILL

Get him to his bedroom, at once!

Jacob kisses Biliatcho and removes the duster overcoat.

JACOB

Nap.

WILL BILL

We will teach you how to get along, tomorrow.

The Five Fairies resume their positions around Jacob’s head.

BILIATCHO

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Biliatcho stretches his arms out as he yawns.

FIVE FAIRIES

Dona Nobis Pacem, Pacem, Dona Nobis Pacem...

Jacob places inside Biliatcho’s heart shape bedroom box a small piece of felt for a blanket, and stuffs some of Biliatcho's feathers in a maroon velvet jewelry bag for Biliatcho to use as a pillow.

Biliatcho sinks down into his fluffy pillow as the Five Fairies sing and lull Biliatcho to sleep.
