About Stuart

Midlands based MSO with experience and skills including gaffer/spark/lighting design, editing, camera operation/supervisor, sound engineering and directing.
I've worked in various roles in media production for over 13 years. BBC trained with experience of live TV studio work and camera operation for ITV.

I'm an Avid certified editor and also hold Master Pro level certification in Apple's Final Cut Studio suite of post production tools. My editing experience includes broadcast animation series, TV shows and corporate films for blue chip companies.

I'm frequently hired for my technical skills. As a qualified electrician and experienced DOP/Camera operator I can often be found providing Gaffer and Spark services or providing lighting design.
I also undertake technical consultancy work on live productions and events, designing, installing and operating multi camera studios in locations around the country and throughout europe for TV, concerts, conferences and sporting events- on many of which i'm also often found either operating the camera racks or directing and vision mixing.

My audio experience began way before my media career and i've worked as boom op or sound recordist on features for Cadbury, Lloyds TSB and RBS, as well as audio mixing as part of the post production process.

My all round technical experience extends to the provision of grip services. I own and operate a 4.5m jib with hot head and i also have extensive experience with camera dollies and many other production systems- if it needs rigging or de-rigging, i probably know how to do it.

I also help run Birmingham Screen Image Network (www.bsin.co.uk), a networking and discussion forum which aims to promote and increase screen based media in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. Held on the last Thursday of every month between 4-6pm at Millennium Point, its free to attend for anyone interested in visual media. Attendees are also welcome to stay for Creative Networks which follows the BSIN meetings (www.creativenetworksonline.com)
