About Tamsin

I write stories inspired by the possibility of a different, more equitable world that celebrate the resilience and humour of the amazing human spirit! My stories often deal with dark and gritty issues but are imbued with hope and the power of love. My first love is TV and film, but I also write for radio and the stage.

My project 'Planet Rising' was selected by The Writers Lab UK & Ireland 2022/23 and was a quarterfinalist in the Finish Line Script Competition. At the beginning of 2022 my radio play 'Angry Bird' was broadcast by Irish radio station - Near FM: https://listenagain.org/?p=42500. I was recently a script editor on 3 Degrees by Deva Palmier:

In 2009 I completed an MA at London College of Communication in Screenwriting and have written a number of short films, stage and radio plays since. Prior to this, I worked as an actor, facilitator and producer in the theatre and educational settings over 30 years, both in the UK and in Australia and New Zealand. Highlights have included producing gala performances of The Vagina Monologues with high profile performers (Old Vic, Royal Albert Hall, Criterion Theatre) in London, between 1999-2004; running a writing project with 15 poets and playwrights for The National Theatre in the east-end of London and directing 100 young people at the South Bank in my play ‘Lambeth Walks’ about local history. I also set up the highly successful charity - Tender Education and Arts (www.tender.org.uk) - which uses theatre and the arts to prevent domestic and sexual violence in 2003.
