Jorge Albuquerque is a young actor and musician who spends many time observing the social environment and human behavior. “To find a form that accommodates the mess, that is the task of the artist now” (Samuel Becket)
Born in 2 March of 1981 in Lisbon, Portugal where he’s been living and working ever since. As a kid he liked to play above the trees, to invent flying powers, to explore the woods looking for mysterious events, but at the same time to organize the day with home tasks.
Worked as a cashier in a supermarket, as a graphic designer, as a promoter in summer festival events, as a teacher, as a bartender in a coffee shop, as assistant production in a dance festival, selling door to door. “There are three principal means of acquiring knowledge... observation of nature, reflection, and experimentation. Observation collects facts; reflection combines them; experimentation verifies the result of that combination.” (Denis Diderot)
Jorge finished the acting university in escola superior de teatro e cinema in 2012, receiving an invitation from the Nacional Theater where he worked as an actor for three years. Simultaneously he’s been involved in cinema and theater projects.
