About Richard

(Writer and Director ) Richard Turke attended the California Institute of the Arts. He studied film, animation, theatre, acting, and art, however he chose to focus on filmmaking. Richard graduated with a BFA in film, after receiving a Michael Eisner scholarship. Since graduation, Richard has worked as an editor, animator, actor, producer, and director for While freelancing Richard continued to develop his own works, including a film titled “Man Over the Hill” which was featured in the American Film Institute 2000 Film Festival. Man Over the Hill” was released through Warner Brothers. In 2003 “Food for Thought” was featured in Slamdance. Food for Thought” won the Anarchy. In 2008 Richard produced “The Rhapsody” starring Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner), with Mikael Salomon (The Abyss, Backdraft, The Andromeda Strain 2008). A review of Richard’s combined works show he is a natural storyteller with the ability to create interesting characters. His works are filled with humor, emotion and thought. Friends call his work “A whirl wind of emotions”. Richard’ just finished writing his next script and slated to direct a comedy in the fall.
