I'm a young adult into many creative areas that include, photography, painting, acting, acting and dance. I need help on how to start or who to look up because I'm honestly not sure what to do. I would also like to be a motivational speaker for children in the areas of medical, art and education because those areas are most important to me. I'm dyslexic and I went onto college and i also have a rare brain tumor. I'm currently working on two children books so I thought someone that could possible help me promote myself and my creative mind. Sorry - if this seems like a rant. I just thought about putting out a message. Please if anyone knows of any mangers or places too look at, please let me know. Or any advise.

Expand commentHi Kaitlyn, that's a very hard set of questions to try to answer. Generally speaking, I advise people to start on a focused path, instead of trying to be a Jack of All Trades, Master of None. Given your desires, one approach for you might be to focus on your 2 children's books. When the manuscripts are ready to go to market, query publishing agents who specialize in children's books. If you are signed by a publishing agent, and if she can help you secure a publishing deal with a major publisher, the publisher may want to promote your book(s) by arranging a Book Tour. If you are blessed with a Book Tour, you will have the chance to do public/motivational speaking on the Book Tour! I know that's a lot of steps, but perhaps it could help to focus your path a bit, rather than trying to do a range of things and not being able to give any one pursuit your all-out best effort. Best of luck with your health and your path!

Expand commentI would also respectfully add that an agent or a manager will only get paid when they're able to commission your paycheck. So you need to be far along in your career, with a portfolio that will allow you to book work, so that the agent/manager can see a paycheck coming to you (and thus, also coming to them).
Not sure were or how to even start but I was thinking of getting a manger. Someone that not only deals with acting but other creative areas. Any advise would be great - thanks

It is a life-long love of mine, so naturally, I want to explore my talent and aspirations. I'm also looking to network in hopes of importing and selling original works of art, an endeavor which is new to me. Either way, I'm looking forward to making friends here and enjoy all that this site has to offer.

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!
RB
