About Darryl

I have spent the past 25 years teaching higher education, providing shelter for the homeless as well as safe space for young people growing up in the Urban Community to meet, greet, and share with the purpose of helping people to live safer and better lives. I have served as the Assistant Director of a college community. I served on Middle States Accreditation Steering Committees. I have also served the Gramercy Park community as the Executive Director of a Transitional Housing Program for the Homeless. I have received recognition and awards from The New York Daily News, The Office of former Borough President Scott Stringer, as well as the Office of the Governor of New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo.

I have taken some time out of my social justice work to use my critical thinking and writing skills to focus on Screenwriting. Most recently I have completed a full-featured drama film about crime and corruption that penetrates prison walls. I am very excited about using my skills to reach a broader audience.

Unique traits: Educator, social services manager, grant writer.
