About Christin

I am a storyteller. I believe in film, dance, music and theater. I believe in laughter, magic, glitter and unicorns. I fight for equality in the LGBT community.

And for a longer version, see below! :)

I am me/Soy yo

I am the daughter of a Puerto Rican mother and a Southern American father. I come from the unique sound of coquis and the sway of flamboyan trees. I come from kudzu vines and the rhythm of sweet southern rhymes. I am me. Soy yo.

I journeyed from Georgia to New York City, where I received my BFA in Dance and Latin American Studies at New York University. During my time as an undergraduate at NYU, I had the opportunity to study dance and art in Cuba, Ghana and Vietnam, and I also took classes in performance studies, cinema studies and social movements in the Graduate school. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in the top 5 of my class.

I went on to complete the two year acting conservatory program at the William Esper Studio with a focus in Meisner technique.

I was the Executive Director of the multi-disciplinary performing arts collective SLIGHTLYaskew. With the company, I taught, performed and curated work in over five states. I have performed with various arts organizations ranging from Taye Diggs’ dance company dredance to force/collision to the Dance Exchange at Kennedy Center.

My passion has always been film. I come from a family of artists and cinephiles :) I love all aspects of the cinematic arts from being in front of the camera, being behind the camera to studying the history.

Since childhood, I have been actively engaged in human and civil rights issues. I believe that the arts perform an integral part in ensuring the freedom of all individuals and fostering a better understanding and appreciation for the diversity of human life.

Unique traits: Choreographer, Songwriter, Producer, Improv, Model, Teaching Artist, Spanish Fluency, Southern dialect, Yoga & Pilates proficiency, Documentary film & Journalism experience, Non-fiction & Poetry writer, Licensed Driver
