River Finlay’s 2015 short documentary Luchadora delves into the life of Mexican professional Lucha Libre wrestler Luna Mágica. The film won Best Documentary Short at Cinequest and Best Documentary Short at The Lower East Side Film Festival in New York City and has screened at festivals across the world. Before becoming a filmmaker, River spent many years working in Latin America as a public health expert. She is also a producer at Think Out Loud Productions, where she combines the worlds of international health with film. River has a master’s in public health from Columbia University and a master’s in film and video from American University.
