George Bloomfield

You’d have known me as a modest, to-him-self surfer kid with a bit of a dark side, raised on LA’s west side, north of Montana. The TV, film and entertainment industry surrounded me but I had little interest in Hollywood at the time. I was an extra in a couple films when I was young - kind of an early Nick Nolte lookalike (if anyone remembers). Time has been a little kinder to me. Anyway - I have a fun but, edgy drama filled with emotional surprises and visual beauty that I want to develop for the big screen. It's a powerful, whimsical, sometimes amazing life story about a quiet man, and how he has navigated a life of personal challenges with an intense yet carefree outlook. I imagine laughter about certain painful situations, wonder in his enormous simplicity, and tears for his enlightened triumphs. I'd like know what it takes to properly write and promote my first try at a screenplay. I'm an accomplished Commercial Illustrator, Fine Artist and Marketing Designer (yes, I'll keep my day job), so I can see so much of the film in my mind. Kind of a Forest Gump meets Titanic with a touch of Hitchcock. I just came upon this site and thought - what the hell. This story isn't going to write itself. Anyone out there?
