THE RINGS OF TALMOORIN
By Dennis Doud

GENRE: Action, Fantasy
LOGLINE:

"An introverted baker's boy with two secrets, (only one of which he's aware), finds himself aligned with a drunken Clan Lord and his small band of extraordinary warriors as together they take on the entire Kingdom to save a worthless King - because their God said He would honor His promise if they honored theirs."

SYNOPSIS:

The baker's son, Ronson, sees Baron Naheer kill to hide his coup against the King. Ronson escapes the city, fleeing to his uncle Tandrick's farm. Together, they run for Castle Talmoorin to expose the rebellion.

Sinclair, the Talmoorin Clan Lord, is a broken-hearted drunk crushed by the murder of his wife, a death he blames on the All-Ruler, the true God of the Talmoorins. His half-sister, Ellawig, the Lord Bow, Commander of the Brown Bows, does her best to keep things together as Sinclair drinks to forget.

Bayden, eldest son of Sinclair despises his father's weakness. Once the coup is discovered, he is sent to the Clans to recruit allies while Gilson, youngest son of Sinclair, rides to warn the King. Tandrick and Ellawig ride to different parts of Talmoorin to muster the Brown Bows for war.

Bayden finds all the Clans have sided with Naheer except for the Arboreans, a small clan of huge, powerful people. Bayden sees an opportunity and joins the rebellion.

Gilson informs the King, unaware that the Regent is loyal to Naheer. Gilson and the Duke save the king from assassination while the Regent's involvement goes undetected. At the urging of the Regent, the King, thinking the clans are still loyal, dispatches half of the Royal Army to Talmoorin. He also decides to join the adventure to escape the tedium of government.

Ronson's unknown warrior heritage, inherited from his mother's race, comes to light under Watermaster's training. Ronson is reluctant to get involved but soon realizes what is at stake, but he's not prepared for what will be required of him.

Tandrick visits the Arboreans and learns of Bayden's treachery. Tandrick with his Brown Bows and Ellawig with hers narrowly escape back to Talmoorin where Sinclair must come to grips with Bayden's decision.

The Royal Army, expecting help from the Clans, arrives under-strength and vastly outnumbered. Naheer attacks and the King's panicked decision allows Naheer's massive army to surround them.

Sinclair, now trusting All-Ruler, orders a counter-attack. Though valiant, the effort stalls. Defeat draws near. Naheer almost kills Sinclair but Ronson saves him, killing Naheer, who in his dying act, assassinates the King.

The Arborean army arrives to smash the enemy back but the odds are too great. Naheer's army regroups and surrounds the defenders. Death of the Clan is near. It's then that the All-Ruler appears to defend His people, decimating the enemy, and saving Clan Talmoorin.

The main story wraps up with the pomp and circumstance of a hero's send-off for the Arboreans as they leave Castle Talmoorin.

A small vignette, (after the primary credits), shows how the relationship develops between Sinclair and Ronson as Ronson becomes smitten by Sinclair's daughter, Keera.

After all the credits have run and the music stops, a final short scene shows that though the battle was won, the war is not over...
