I have been putting this off forever----as a longtime actor this is the thing we most loathe to do. Here goes: I am a multiple award-winning actress of stage and screen from Yale, and have worked in every medium, big and small, except porn. When I turned 50 I saw one of the women I auditioned with playing a judge on Law and Order (the bread and butter of NYC actors) and was horrified. Once you play a judge on Law and Order, as opposed to a lawyer or long suffering mother, etc., your TV career in NYC is over. This means you are OLD and they will only allow you to play one of their judges maybe once a year. So I immediately applied to screenwriting school. Someone had to write parts for women my age, and I would just have to learn.

I spent 150K at one of the top schools in the country and HATED IT. The book will be called, "Shitty Little Fuckers." I am learning more through Stage 32 and other screenwriting classes than I ever learned there. It was just before #metoo, and the things my (only) male teachers and (mostly) young male "peers" said to me were beyond misogynist. If only I carried a tape recorder, I could fun all of my projects for life.

So I'm writing two features and three TV shows. I am a comedy writer mostly, but even in my dramas there's usually comedy. Mostly I write strong women leads and stories, but sometimes my muse goes off in another direction.

I am seeking a women screenwriters group for accountability and friendship:))) And I need a funny boyfriend, but no actors...
