Laura R. Duggan

I write plays that I self-produce, often financed by grants. Currently, I'm working on a new show entitled "The Virtue of Penelope: A Chinese Odyssey," premiering in Medford October 16th and 17th, 2015. It's a Chinese translation of Homer's Epic Poems, "The Ilias" and "The Odyssey." Written, directed, and starring myself, this large cast play is a departure from my usual plays which include three one-woman shows about 'remarkable women' from the Victorian/Edwardian Era: Mary Cassatt,
Isabella Stewart Gardner, and Beatrix Potter. I also direct annually the Christmas Pageant and Passion Play at Medford's Grace Church with large intergenerational casts including multimedia.
