About Fred

My day job is Digital Imaging Technician. I serve the Director of Photography by helping realize and protect her/his vision through on-set image control and color management, and I serve the Producer by protecting the integrity of the many digital files into which so much money and effort are invested, and passing them on in good order to all the departments that need them.

My passion is working on Culture Healing Media - which could be in any genre,
but usually is some sort of SciFi or Fantasy or Magic Realism - stories that convey wisdom and healing and a vision of the mostly untapped positive potential that we have, the possibilities of a future that we'll be happy to live into and gift to our offspring.

The current project I'm helping develop is based on Starhawk's writing: THE FIFTH SACRED THING and CITY OF REFUGE.

We have 10 days to go and are ALMOST there!

The other stories that are on my short list are
LEGACY by Joanne Poyourow and
The RINGING CEDARS/ANASTASIA series by Vladimir Megre

Megre's book implicitly touches a theme of which I am very fond: the persistence in our collective unconscious and archaeo-mythology of spiritual resources and human potential that have been buried by centuries of oppression and mystification, but which keep springing up like blades of grass through pavement.

I was honored to work on Matrix 2 and 3. While there was a lot of violence portrayed, there was also an underlying theme of awakening, healing and realization of previously unimagined positive potential.

In too many of the stories of our era, the solution chosen is "power-over" and violence, which expresses the dominator culture in which we are mostly submerged.

I'm interested in stories that delve into the possibilities of cooperative, partnership culture and "power-with"; that show the possibility of healing (on all levels) in the midst of apparently hopeless situations.

If you know of projects which fit this bill. PLEASE let me know.

or visionlogic.tv@ any time.

I mostly need to earn union scale or better, but will consider working on cooperative or spec projects IF they have the right themes, competent leadership, good working conditions and let me explore new-to-me technologies and/or stretch-for-me roles, such as Director of Photography.
