About Boris

Berlin-born New York-adopted composer, producer, songwriter, multimedia artist and epiphany addict Boris Berlin likes to push stylistic envelopes and merge genres.

After graduating from the Berklee College of Music in Boston in Music Production/Engineering and Songwriting, Boris moved to New York City where he began composing and producing commercial underscores for advertising, independent features and documentaries.

He gained valuable experiences by assisting contemporary American composer Philip Glass in productions of several of his records and film scores, and through work for record producers and New York City DJ’s in pop/rock, electronica and dance genres.

His musical underscore work for emerging film makers led to experimentations in the merging of traditional symphonic music with modern electronic production elements and digital technology. Some of the creative alliances led to classical cross-over productions under the pseudonyms Metasonica, Mozart Modern, Borizio, Tonica, Anoize and Celestial Celebrants, among others.

After years of working for NY-based music production houses, he became independent working mostly from his project studio. The digital revolution has brought so many amazing tools to our fingertips that it’s an incredible time to be a freelance artist.

In his over a decade of making music, Boris has remained a musical chameleon, embracing a variety of sounds, from orchestral, underscore and pop to electronica, rock and dance-pop.

His music has appeared on records, films, multimedia, compilations, single releases, tv & radio advertising commercials, movies and games. He releases records under his name and various pseudonyms.

Mission

Creating perspective-enhancing multimedia art as a vehicle for change and empowerment.

Honoring the computer as the preeminent tool of the 21st century by using it as an instrument to both guide and execute the creative process.

Virtual instruments easily allow for creating new worlds by merging old ones. Traditional style and genre classifications have become outworn stereotypes. We can and should merge all influences now, into a unified whole.

Unique traits: Looking for various actors in New York City for compensated projects.
