A misguided optimist and his faithful friend pursue a kidnapped girl across the United States and must struggle against impossible odds to rescue her.

SYNOPSIS:

Donnie Q and the Ridiculously Unbelievable Journey is a contemporized adaptation of Don Quixote and follows the adventures of recent high school graduate DONNIE Q, who is enamored with the Valedictorian, PENNY MILLER, who is smart and beautiful and just won’t get out of Donnie’s head, but he just can’t bring himself to talk to her. After Penny invents a new form of renewable energy, she earns a full scholarship from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, but is lured by the promise of changing the world by billionaire and self-proclaimed philanthropist DR. WALDO EMERSON, who has built a state-of-the-art research facility called “The Dome” on Alcatraz Island. Donnie enlists the help of ALEXANDER SANCHEZ to rescue her from the clutches of Dr. Emerson after Penny mysteriously disappears right after graduation. Donnie and Alexander find themselves traveling across the United States from New York to California is not easy as they face formidable foes and make powerful allies, all while battling their own inner demons. Their journey begins on skateboard and they quickly graduate to stowaways on a tour bus, trade a moped for a valuable comic book, get picked up by a tornado and then a blind and deaf duo attempting to be the first such pair to cross the contiguous United States, get a ride from a van of Vegas performers, are given the keys to a Lamborghini, and then finally arrive in San Francisco after being held prisoners on Area 51. When Penny discovers that Dr. Emerson’s plans for her involve not just renewable energy research, but a plan to change the world by using her invention to travel back in time, she tries to leave, but she finds The Dome on Alcatraz Island is not easily escaped from. Donnie and Alexander hatch a plan that will not only save Penny, but stop Dr. Emerson’s evil plans. Donnie Q and the Amazing Journey is registered with the Writer's Guild of America.
