About Nathaniel

Nathaniel Smith grew up in Madison, WI before moving to Chicago to pursue a passion for underground house music and DJing. For years he dabbled in music creation but his passion for film music was sparked when asked to write for a friend’s short experimental film. The result was a resounding failure in both style and form, but it started Nathaniel on the path to writing music for film professionally. After obtaining a master’s degree in music composition for film and television he bid farewell to Chicago and moved to beautiful Los Angeles. Hollywood welcomed Nathaniel with open arms, enthusiastically offering endless unpaid internships and projects paid in “copy and credit.” Over the past 6 years Nathaniel has had some incredible luck to meet and work with Hollywood’s most talented and dedicated young filmmakers. He has had work screened at nearly every major film festival. His music has been placed in shows airing on MTV, CBS, ABC, and other important acronyms. He would love to write music for your film or broadcast television project in exchange for some of your hard earned money.
