Kaisla Pirkkalainen

I ́m one of the founder and artistic leader of Laboratorytheatre Fennica. Theatre group was found 2005 in Finland. I have worked in it as director, actor, play writer, producer and as a theatre practice teacher. Theatre has included practice base research its everyday life since it was found. It also publishes and translates theatre books in Finnish. Last book it published was 2015 Eugenio Barba ́s Paper Canoe "Paperista tehty kanootti - teatteriantropologian opas.
My twenty years experiment in teaching theatre practice consist theatre practice teaching in Theatre Laboratory ECS, high school, youth theatre and in our theatre. M.A degree is from University of Lapland and Vocational teacher education teacher ́s pedagogical studies from Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, Teacher Educational College.
It needs to be mentioned that our training tradition has a "blood connection" to Jerzy Grotowsky´s early training in 1960´s, since my teacher Carita Rindell was studying in Odin theatre in 1960´s. We have been also practicing and teaching training by Iben Nagel Rasmussen. Other founder of Laboratorytheatre Fennica has been part of Iben´s international group Vindenes Bro since 2000. Nowadays I call my training Practice as Manifesto of Performance. All the training happens under performances.
