Born in Bogotá, Colombia. From a young age he got involved in activities related to music and audio such as performing the trumpet in his school’s music orchestra.
Driven by his passion for music and audio, he enrolled in a B.A. (Hons) in Music with emphasis in Audio Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana where he not only graduated with an Honorific Mention for his Final Graduation Project about “Sound Design for Videogames“, but also volunteered as Studio Manager, Teacher Assistant, and Website Developer for the Faculty.
His technical and editing skills in Audio Post-Production have been crucial in several movies, documentaries, short-film and audiovisual projects such as Colombian feature film “Ciudad Delirio“, Short-films like “KaotiKos” and “Cafe con Leche” (Selected for the FICCI 52 Festival) from Mauricio Leiva, and Documentaries like “Enrique Grau – El Santo y el Esclavo” and “Carlos Mayolo – De Pelicula!” from Roberto Triana amongst others.
In the radio industry, he collaborated with Javeriana Estereo 91.9 FM radio station, as broadcast and recording operator as well as voice talent for the Jazz and Contemporary Rock programming strips.
Outside the studio environment, his experience includes working in the Live Sound area as F.O.H. Engineer for events such as the Elan / UB40 Tour (2007), Salford Music Festival (2014), Live Recording Engineer for “Stereo Picnic 2014 Music Festival” and Audio Director for musical reenactments of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “The Phantom of the Opera” plays for the Campoalegre School (2008).
On a side track from the audio world, he has worked with Apple Inc’s local authorised resellers iStore and iShop as an Apple Product and Software Specialist Trainer for sales crew and end users.
His combined skills and knowledge in the sales and audio environments became a perfect combination to collaborate as Audio Consultant in the area of professional recording and broadcast for Avcom Colombia, (solutions integrator and authorised reseller for Avid Pro Audio, Sennheiser, Mackie and Focusrite amongst others).
Last but not least he loves to teach, and performed as Certified Pro Tools Instructor (ACI) for User Levels (101 and 110), and lecturer of Sennheiser’s RF & Wireless Microphone Systems Basic Set-up and Audio Repair with iZotope’s RX3 workshops for CCAT Colombia.
Aside from his regular jobs, he is an external consultant for Percuaction – Global Percussion Network, and Colombia’s experimental percussion group TEKEYÉ®. In 2014 he moved to Manchester, United Kingdom, to complete his Masters Degree in Digital Post-Production for TV & Film at the University of Salford.
