Charlie Weil

My name is Charlie Weil. I am currently a senior at Columbia College Chicago; class of 2019. Film concentration. Hardworking, enthusiastic, energetic and creative! Versatile as a performer. I am an actor, singer, filmmaker, film director, writer, A.D. (Assistant Director), cinematographer/ D.P. (Director of Photography), assistant A.D., and producer. Have a strong work ethic and a clear vision of what story I want! Currently, I am now a senior at Columbia College Chicago and I am a Cinema Arts/ Science Major, concentrating in Screenwriting and Cinema Studies. I will graduate in 2019, with a degree in cinema studies and screenwriting and a minor in film producing. I consider myself to be a young, passionate filmmaker with a clear and precise vision. I have an evidently apparent, strong work ethic, which reflects brilliantly in my work. I am also incredibly passionate about film, and have a vast array of knowledge and insight into the ins and outs of the filmmaking world. I am also an avid movie aficionado, and I thoroughly enjoy critiquing films and analyzing them to their core. I have worked on a few student directed films last year and I hope to work on many more in the future. I also hope to utilize my many skill sets when pursuing my career.


I have engaged in many responsibilities on film sets, as a student at Columbia working on student films and working on professional films. I have previous experience as a grip, a gaffer, a production designer, a production assistant (PA), an assistant director (AD), a 1st assistant director (1st AD), a 2nd assistant director (2nd AD), a script supervisor , a cinematographer/ director of photography (DP), and as a sound mixer. Through these various areas of filmmaking, I have gained a stronger sense of self- discipline, a vigorously, stronger work ethic, unrelenting communication skills, and resourceful self- advocacy skills. I feel that I have grown instrumentally over the years in developing these skills that have now become major assets of mine; that I know will benefit me exponentially in the distant future. I have an immeasurable passion for filmmaking, which I know will benefit me in what ever artistic endeavor I choose to pursue.

I consider myself to be a conscientious, scrupulously determined, assiduously diligent and motivated hard worker with an optimistic outlook on life. I consider myself to be a free spirited, outspoken, optimistic, expeditious, dexterous, self- disciplined and creative individual. Essentially, I like to think outside the box on things. I pride myself on having a spontaneous and progressive view of the world, and with my ideas. I believe this will ultimately benefit me when pursuing my goals because I believe the better you keep an open mind, you will have a greater understanding of what you want to accomplish and how you intend on doing that.

Currently obtaining a Bachelor in Cinema Arts/ Science at Columbia College Chicago! Class of 2019!!
