Shane Imbert is a professionally trained actor living in Sydney, Australia. He trained at UWS Theatre Nepean and graduated in 2002.
His stage productions include lead and supporting roles in Havana Harlem, Ben Hur, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, Westside Story, Macbeth, Troilus and Cressida, A Little Like Drowning, Dog's Breakfast, Hot Young Things, The Sound of Music, Oliver, Fear and Misery of The Third Reich and The Possibilities. His TV appearances include UnderBelly, Spirited 2, FOX8 Dangerous, Home and Away, Gotcha!, Vidiot, Australia's Most Wanted, several television commercials for Old El Paso, SuperCheap Auto, Jetstar, Mountain Dew, Mars Bar and a number of corporate videos and short films.
Whilst at Theatre Nepean, Shane studied many varied acting techniques including: Meisner, Lee Strasberg, Practical Aesthetics (David Mamet), Stanislavski and Suzuki. Additionally he was exposed to various philosophies/ readings and practices of Jerzy Grotowski, Yoshi Oida, Robert Benedetti, Uta Hagen, Moshe Feldenkrais, Peter Brook, Howard Barker and Jean-Paul Sartre. As well as his actor training, Shane has completed workshops with NIDA, The Actor's Centre, ATYP and Sydney Talent Company.
He maintains a consistent and comprehensive voice workout routine based upon the works of Cicely Berry, Kristin Linklater, Patsy Rodenberg and Michael McCallion. His professional accent and dialect skills are broad and varied including Standard British (Received Pronunciation), Cockney, Standard / Neutral American, West Coast, Southern American, Appalachian, New York/ Brooklyn, Northern/ Southern Irish, Scottish, Italian, Spanish, Cuban, Puerto Rican, French and Indian. Shane is also a trained and competent singer.
Shane enjoys Crossfit training. His other physical and dance skills include olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, sprinting, kayaking, flat-water rowing, swimming, tap, ballet, latin, mambo, tango, flamenco, funk, physical theatre, acrobatics, trapeze, aerial work, clown, ashtanga and power yoga, pilates method, bodysurfing, water polo and indoor/outdoor rock climbing. He has also done some catwalk modeling for Politix, Tarocash, John Serafino, Tony Bennett, K-Mart, Smirnoff UTS Graduate Seasons and Plot Clothing.
