Thomas Kranzle

Hi. I'm Thomas Kranzle, a Santa Barbara based commercial Director and Director of Photography specializing in short form branded content. I started my career working on the traditional kind of commercials in Los Angeles - big crews, unions, lots of trailers and a plenty of red tape.

I wanted to break free from all that, so I set out to produce own content. My desire was to build productions in a way that would trim the fat, keeping the production footprint small and maximizing efficiency and creativity. I've been doing that for the past ten years now and have never looked back.

Today I run most productions through Venture Visuals (the production company I founded in ’07) and occasionally pursue freelance Directing and DP work. I view each new project as a chance to create something that can move and inspire. Story is paramount, but I place equal value on strategy. A project means nothing if it doesn’t meat the needs for which it was created. Yes, I love producing beautiful imagery, but ultimately it's about producing something that works.
