Will Pound is one of the world’s top harmonica players and has taken the instrument to new places and new music with a style that is completely his own. Will plays both diatonic and chromatic harmonicas and creates sounds not usually heard on this little instrument in styles varying from bluegrass, folk, jazz and Arabic to blues, rock, pop and funk.
Will recorded on the Hillsborough Single which reached Christmas number 1 in 2012.
Will is to release his debut solo album ”A Cut Above” in September with guests Kris Drever, Tim Edey, Martin Simpson, Damien O’Kane…
Will plays with his wife Nicky in the English Folk duo Haddo, The Will Pound Trio and until recently performed with banjo player extraordinaire Dan Walsh in the critically acclaimed duo Walsh & Pound. As well as his own projects Will has played alongside artists such as Martin Simpson, Sandra Kerr and Guy Chambers. He was a member of 12lve, as featured on the BBC documentary Goldies Band: By Royal Appointment which saw him play at Buckingham Palace and was nominated in the Best Musician category of the 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
