Barry May was born in Killarney, MB. He educated himself by attending film workshops at Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers. He’s been an active member in Calgary’s local film community volunteering on film projects and film festivals including Calgary International, Fairytales and Underground Film Festival. He expresses himself in Film and Video working with 16mm film. During an intensive 5 month film workshop Barry completed “Severance” a 5 minute short shot on 16mm. “Severance” has screened at Ming Short Film Festival September 2007. In 2008, Barry completed his second film “Manipulating the Heart” a 10 minute drama shot on 16mm. “Manipulating the Heart” has screened at Winnipeg’s Reel Pride Film Festival October 2008.
