About Joe

Hey! I've been in the industry professionally since 2000. Began as an Associate Producer for a CBS affiliate station in the original programming department. After 4 years of working in the regional commercial market, I founded Orionvega, LLC in 2008.

Based out of Pittsburgh, PA, Orionvega has become the "local" production company of record for many commercial, television, and web campaigns, films, and other projects. My role within that realm has been a Production Manager, providing key creatives with fantastic crews, excellent work space, and a strong eye on managing the budget. We've produced work for Dove Soap, Spike-TV, American Eagle Outfitters, HGTV, AOL Sports and many others.

As a filmmaker, I am the producer of a series of films that are the exact retellings of Edgar Allan Poe stories. Two have been produced to date... The Cask of Amontillado and The Raven. Both have earned Mid Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards. The films have also found global distribution in the educational market... turning students onto great works of American Literature. We plan to finish the Poe collection and move on to other writers.

This year brought my first taste of being a 1st AD on a TV Pilot and Sizzle Reel directed by a nationally renowned comedic writer and producer.

I love Pittsburgh. I started my business here, had my family here, and feel that it is a wonderful place for production. My goals for the future are to continue to strengthen my skills as a production manager and producer, continue making narrative film when the funding is available, and to work with as many talented and creative people as I possibly can. Each and every job has brought something new to the table and I am always learning. The ability to grow and learn from project to project is what I love most about this industry.
