I have been an actor all my life. At an early age, after seeing Mike Winslow on Police Academy, I started doing sound effects and voices. In Jr high I played Nicely Nicely Johnson, in guys and dolls. That role made me love theater, but I loved Nathan Lane in the film version of the show. To this day I still enjoy seeing him in any movie.
I have always adopted the theory that acting is just the ability to lie convincingly. That is why I take pride in making my sound effects as real as pissible.
I love to sing, but I can't dance. I was introduced to music by Disney as most young people do. I use my sound effects ability in my singing. What I mean by that statement is that I learned to sing by mimicking others. My tone, my pitch, even my pauses. I would sound as close to the singers as I could while belting it out with Aladin, and, yes and, Jasmine. Or Sebastian, and, yes once again and, Ariel. I remember sitting in my living room replaying Achey Brakey Heart, over and over until I learned the words. My first concert, and still today my favorite artist is Meatloaf. I spent hours apon hours trying to sound just like him. He and Tim Currey in Rocky Horror Picture Show just solidified my dream of acting and singing.
